F.E. Moran’s history dates back to 1931, when Frank Edward Moran founded the company as a boiler and radiator installation business. Over the decades, the company expanded its capabilities and geographic reach, growing into a national specialty contractor serving customers across fire protection, mechanical, plumbing, refrigeration, and sheet metal services.
In 2025, F.E. Moran reported $515 million in revenue, up from $432 million in 2024. Today, approximately 1,550 employees across 22 offices support customers and projects throughout the United States.
Now in its third generation of family ownership, under the stewardship of Brian Moran, the company continues to grow while maintaining the values that have shaped them for generations: treating people with respect, following through on commitments, and building lasting relationships based on trust.

The company is providing fire sprinkler installation for Indiana University Health’s new $2.3 billion hospital campus in Indianapolis, a major medical center spanning approximately 2 million square feet.
F.E. Moran has also delivered critical industrial piping services at the BP Whiting Refinery in Indiana and completed extensive plumbing and HVAC infrastructure for the 1.4 million-square-foot Westville Correctional Facility.
Projects like these demonstrate the technical expertise, field experience, and project management capabilities required to deliver critical building systems safely and successfully at scale.
