    Cancer Awareness Month      

During the month of October our Moran trucks and vans will be displaying pink ribbon decals to raise cancer awareness.

Last year there was a request for pink ribbon decals for ALL of us. We heard you and this year we have smaller decals available.

There are still a few pink ribbon decals left!

Please make a donation to the Cancer Society and pick up a decal for your vehicle or window at home.

The decals will be available at the front desk of the 2165 and the 2265 buildings with a donation box.                      

    

           Moran Health and Wellness Week

This year we are planning an entire Health and Wellness Week – beginning Monday, October 15.

 

CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO BE HEALTHY!

             

MONDAY, October 15

  • Kick off the week with the 10,000 steps challenge.

  • For optimum health - 30 minutes of exercise per day.

  • Challenge yourself with a lunchtime walk around the block!

  • Challenge yourself to get seven hours of sleep per night this week!

  • Good rest will improve your judgment, mood and ability to learn and retain information.

TUESDAY, October 16  

  • Healthy Pot Luck Lunch in the 2265 Conference Center at 11:30 AM

  • Please bring your favorite healthy lunch item to share – everyone is welcome!

  • Drink more water. Did you get your eight glasses in today?

  • Replace one glass of juice or pop with water.

WEDNESDAY, October 17

  • Mid-week exercise with a yoga video in the 2265 Conference Center, no experience necessary.

  • Challenge yourself to create your work-out goals

  • Find a work-out buddy and support each other every step of the way

THURSDAY, October 18

  • Our annual Health and Wellness Fair in the 2265 Conference Center 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM.

  • 11:30 AM – lunch provided by Porter Pipe.

  • Flu Shots Available – bring your BCBS card with you

  • Blood pressure, glucose and osteoporosis screening other important health information

  • Handouts from BCBS, Delta Dental, Voya, Costco, etc. and Raffle prizes!

FRIDAY, October 19

  • Wrap up the healthy week with Mental Wellness.

  • Meditation is great way to foster brain and body health

  • There are meditation apps that can help you get started such as Headspace and Calm.

  • Positivity Challenge - Challenge yourself to be Positive.

  • Keep a Gratitude Journal  and write down one item each day you are grateful for.

  • Grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and feel healthier than others!
