Worker Crushed, Killed by 26-ton Fan

Rensselaer, NY -- A man died at a power plant when a 26-ton fan fell on him while he was working on a maintenance issue.

On June 17 at 8:30am, the City of Rensselaer Police Department was called to the scene of an accident.  Reports said that a male was trapped under a large fan on the roof.  The man was a sub-contractor with 3D Rigging.

When crews arrived, they found the man trapped in the fan, dead.  His body needed to be lowered down with a heavy apparatus.
