Palisades Nuclear Power Plant

Covert Township, MI -- Officials have reported that nearly two dozen security workers were put on paid leave because of inconsistent fire check records.

The workers were working at Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.  The nuclear plant put the workers on leave when fire inspection records showed inconsistencies.  Plant Spokeswoman Val Gent stated that the workers were on paid leave while the plant investigated the allegations.  One of the workers on leave has the job of doing fire checks.

Gent said, "We cannot tolerate employees stating they completed a task when they didn't, and we are obligated to fully investigate any such instances."

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission Spokeswoman Prema Chandrathil said that Entergy "placed 22 security workers on leave."
