Crews have contained a fire at the Palmer Manufacturing plant in Garden City, and now officials are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
The Garden City Telegram reports one of the buildings at Palmer, a manufacturer of steel and fiberglass tanks for oil and fertilizer, caught fire Monday morning. Two employees were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Steve Obrate, general manager, told the Telegram he doesn't expect a long-term impact on Palmer's business operations, because the company will be able to shift work to other buildings on its site.
