TRMA Safety Award

On April 7, 2016, the Three River Manufacturer’s Association (TRMA) awarded F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems the 2015 Safety Recognition Award.  They were honored for working at TRMA plants without an injury.  TRMA was established in 1933 with the objective of promoting safety through strategic training.  TRMA began their Safety Center in 1993 to provide hands-on training to contractors in the industry.  The Safety Center has reduced injury rates by 83%.  In 2015, TRMA facilities had an incidence rate of .36, with hundreds of their companies working injury free.  OSHA’s recordable incident rate for the manufacturing industry was 4.0 in 2015 and 3.8 for specialty trades.

F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems has a service contract with TRMA plant, AkzoNobel.  AkzoNobel began in 1994 to produce, market, and distribute chemicals.  They now have 450 locations throughout the United States.

F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems provides turn-key solutions for heavy industrial, chemical, and power plants.  They strive for 0 incidents on all jobs.  With a dedicated Safety Department, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and JSA’s, safety is a priority for F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems.  Their Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of .56 is a record setting low for the Moran Group.  The EMR is a rating insurance company’s use to look at injury ratings and the chance of risk.  The lower the EMR, the lower the insurance premiums for worker compensation.

Since 1979, F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems has made safety a priority while protecting, chemical, heavy industrial, and power plants from fire.  They have an established safety program with the goal of zero incidents.  Their program includes job hazard analysis, electrical safety, fire protection, fall protection, and personal protective equipment.  The safety department conducts weekly safety meetings and every new field employee must go through a comprehensive safety training.
