Three BTU Employees Injured in Power Plant Fire

The identities of two of the three BTU employees injured in the Atkins power plant fire have been released.  The third employee's name cannot be released until the family authorizes, but he has been flown to a Houston burn center.

James Yendrey and Maurice Carlson have been taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center with minor injuries.  

The BTU Group Manager, David Werley has announced that the crew were injured during periodic maintenance on a combustion turbine generator.  The crew were completing a test run when there was electrical sparking at transmission voltage; a fire ignited from the sparking.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
