Thirty workers were rushed from the Ottawa recycling plant last night when a fire broke out.
Fire crews were called around 9pm when passerbyers saw smoke pouring from the facility. When crews arrived, they found flames in a waste container attached to the main building by a conveyor system.
Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading. While fire crews worked to contain the fire, thirty workers were evacuated.
Eleven fire vehicles and 29 firefighters were at the scene until 1am.
Damage is estimated at $140k. There were no injuries. There were no reports of fire protection.
