No employees were in the 16,000 square foot building at the Calaveras Power Plant when a fire erupted.
Employees working outside the building reported the fire at 1:30am on July 6. The building the fire took place in is seperate from the power plant, so the fire did not impact the power plan't equipment or infrastructure.
Employees who normally work in that building will be relocated to another building on site.
Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. The building is estimated to have $500k in damages and is considered a total loss.
