Wando, SC -- Officials have announced that a chemical plant fire outside of Charleston, SC has caused $25 million in damages.
The fire, which happened on Saturday, gutted a three-story compressor building at the BP Amoco Plant. Crews were on the scene for several hours, and succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings that contained hazardous materials.
There were no injuries and no word on the cause of the fire. There have been no reports on fire protection.
