Hennepin, IL -- A transformer fire last Tuesday forced the shut down of Hennepin Power Station.
Hennepin, Granville, and Putnam County fire departments were called to the scene after reports of a "big fire" at a transformer or switch yard.
"Nobody got hurt, not any of us, or any of the plant workers," said Daryel Petersen, Hennepin's fire chief.
The transformer fire forced the shutdown of one of two units at the power generating station.
Firefighters could not determine what caused the fire. "We'll do an investigation into the cause of the fire," Dynergy Public Relations, Katy Sullivan said.
