West Lafayette, IN -- A fire broke out at 1am on Wednesday on the roof of Purdue University's power plant.
The fire was contained to the roof of the power plant and was extinguished quickly thanks for a fast acting fire crew. Luckily, the building was vacant and being converted at the time of the fire. "The building is slated for demolition as that site will be the future location of the Active Learning Center," said Purdue University Public Information Director Liz Evans.
Firefighters believe that the fire ignited from coating left over when a water tank was removed from the roof.
