String of Workplace Deaths in Canada Fuels Call for Action

construction safetyAlberta, Canada -- Five workplace deaths in Canada have prompted a call to action for job safety at farms and ranches.

Four of the deaths are under investigation and charges could be brought to the employers.  Occupational Health and Safety investigators are looking into the four accidents.  Two in Calgary and two in St. Albert.  Alberta is the only provice that doesn't extend health and safety protection to farm workers.

There have already been 21 workplace deaths in Alberta this year.  Last year, there were 15 workplace deaths for the whole year.
