San Diego, CA -- Two fire departments responded to a fire at the SDSU Chill Plant last night at 11:20pm.
The fire caused $200,000 in damages.
The fire ignited when two workers at the university's chill plant were repairing chiller units with cutting torches when material caught fire. The workers attempted to put out the fire, but when they couldn't, they left the building.
About 60 firefighters arrived at the scene. They were able to put out the fire in 35 minutes.
