Gypum, CO -- Fire crews are being called to a three-alarm fire at a biomass power plant that uses beetle-kill timber to fuel the plant.
Fire crews from all of Eagle County are fighting the fire. The Greater Eagle Fire Protection District Spokeswoman Michele Ziccardi said, "This is going to be an all day affair. We have no idea what caused it. The building is not gone. As far as you can see, it's mostly exterior."
The plant opened one year ago, and was the first biomass plant in the state.
