No Injuries at Coal-fired Power Plant Fire

coal power plant fire protectionDickenson County, VA -- Fire crews responded to a call of a fire at a Virginia Coal-fired Power Plant this weekend.  The fire started on a conveyor belt.  A common fire risk area.

Chief Mullins with the Clincho Fire Department said he got the call at 8:40am on Saturday morning.  By the time the crew arrived, the fire was already extinguished.

At the time of the fire, the plant was fully staffed.  However, no injuries were reported.

Chief Mullins estimates about $10k in damages.  The fire is being investigated.
