construction safetyMercer Island, WA -- Mercer Island Police have reported that a man was killed when he went to visit the construction site of his new home.

Jack Chen, 40, was the property owner and had stopped by the construction site to see the progress of his home.  The workers were raising the wall when it slipped.  Chen tried to assist the workers, but it soon became apparent that the wall was falling.  The workers jumped back, but Chen didn't and the wall fell on him.

Workers attempted CPR.  Chen was taken to Overlake Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mercer Island detective are investigating the incident.
