construction accidentsCanandaigua, NY -- An accident at a construction site yesterday killed 1 man and sent 2 men to the hospital.

The men were building a garage when a crane operator struck a high voltage power line.  The surge killed 46 year old John Trout - the man operating the crane - and injured James Davis, 52, and Keith Ball, 51.  Ball was sent to Thompson Hospital and Davis was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Hospital.

Lt. Brad Falkey of the Ontario County Sheriff's Department said, "Those are the ones that carry the highest voltage.  And that sent the charge through the truck and ground and the individuals that were in contact with the truck were shocked as well."
