power plant fire protectionWilmington, DE -- Fire officials have reported a power plant is damaged following a fire.

Firefighters responded to the blaze Tuesday night.  When they arrived, they could see fire coming from the roof and boiler unit.

The Battalion Chief Timothy Perkins reported that one worker was evacuated by emergency personnel, but refused treatment.  It took about four hours to control the blaze.

The rooftop boiler and building had significant damage as a result of the fire.  The total dollar amount has not been released yet.

The Wilmington Fire Marshal's office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
