Port Augusta, Australia -- Three people, including firefighters, were injured in an explosion at a power station.
Two firefighters and an employee were injured when an explosion rocked Alinta Energy's Northern Power Station. Fire crews were called to the scene at 11am when a fire broke out at a coal deposit. The coal fire eventually triggered an explosion.
When firefighters arrived, they found 70 tons of coal on the property near the fire. Crews worked to stop the spread of the fire.
The employee suffered burns to the face and hands. The firefighters' injuries are not yet known.
The fire did not cause disruptions to power supply.
