States Cut Power Plant Emissions; New EPA Rule Ahead

New EPA Rules for Power Plants | F.E. Moran Special Hazard SystemsNext Month, a new EPA rule goes into effect.  In preparation for this, states are already beginning to crack down. 

The new rule says that power plants will need to control their carbon dioxide emissions or the federal government will do it for you.  The rule is called the Clean Power Plan; 42 states have already begun reducing carbon dioxide emissions by using less coal and moving toward natural gas (you can see our post here on fire protection for gas-fired power plants).  However, nine states have actually increased their emissions.
