Construction Worker Fatally Injured at Site

A construction worker was killed when a pipe shard impaled him in the neck.

The 39 year old victim was working at a construction site when a pipe shard struck him in the neck.  The victim was installing pipe in the ground when he sustained the severe cut to his neck while working with a saw.  

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene with four units.  Co-workers attempted to administer first aid at the scene until first responders arrived.  However, the victim succumbed to his injuries by 11:20am.  

The victim was working at a construction site in which they are building a road for Vail Resorts ski area.
