Highland -- A fire destroyed a chemical plant on Friday night, injuring two people.
The blaze broke out Friday night and caused multiple explosions, heavy smoke, and flames. Two people were injured in the fire and explosions. The extent of their injuries is not yet known, but they were taken to Midhudson Regional Hospital and transported to Westchester Medical Center.
The plant is used as a recovery center for oil and vehicle fluids.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known. Luckily, with the help of the fire department, the two-alarm blaze was contained in an hour. A haz-mat team was also on the scene, containing run-off fluids. Read the original story here.
