New Haven, CT -- A 53 year old worker died on Saturday when he fell from a power plant at Yale University while doing construction work.

The worker was 60 feet up, working on a non-active chimney stack.  The power plant was getting an upgrade.  He was not an employee of Yale, but a contractor with International Chimney.

New Haven firefighters were dispatched to the accident for a "complicated rescue."  Once he was rescued, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries.

OSHA is conducting an investigation.  Yale Public Safety and the Yale Police Department are assisting with the investigation.
