NYC Raiding Construction Sites Over Fake Safety Certificates | F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems

New York City -- Construction-related work deaths are on the rise, which made authorities take a second look.  They found that many workers were faking OSHA safety certificates.

Construction workers are required to take safety courses run by OSHA; however, many workers have been faking the cards and blowing off the OSHA classes.  So far, more than 20 NYC-based construction workers have been found with fraudulent cards.  

The Department of Buildings is among the city agencies coordinating the sweeps.  They have increased action against contractors that are caught with fake safety certificates.  One construction company's license was revoked.  Another was charged with criminal charges for the death of a worker on site.
