Workers Rescued from Chemical Plant Fire | F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems

Glasgow -- A fire ignited at a chemical plant in Glasgow, throwing a "large amount of smoke and dust" into the air, creating a level 2 Hazmat incident.

Three fire appliances are at the scene with an environmental protection unit.  A scientist is also at the scene, assisting emergency services to determine the nature of the incident and whether chemicals could be involved.

Nearby streets have been cordoned off and local residents are being told to stay indoors with their windows closed.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 5:30pm on Thursday.  No casualties have been reported.
