Firefighters Called out to Power Plant in Baldwin | F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems

Multiple fire departments reported to the scene at Baldwin Energy Complex on Friday after a coal fire ignited.  Luckily, no injuries were reported and the plant did not have to cease operations.

Spokesman for Baldwin, David Onufer reported that the fire occurred in a bunker in one unit.  "It was in an area that wasn't in operation at the time of the fire," he said.  "It's one of those things...coal can catch fire."

Additional fire departments were called in as a safety precaution.
