The new year is upon us and 2017 is in full swing. With everything going on in the news - new president, protests, policy changes - you know what has been pushed aside? HVAC news (kidding. A little). Let's take a look at the upcoming trends to expect in 2017.
1) HVAC Growth in the Non-residential Space
With a new president, the country is feeling a little uncertain. People are less likely to purchase homes when they don't know what to expect. However, the non-residential and commercial industries are feeling confident in infrastructure spending. It is estimated that these sectors will grow and HVAC will grow right along with them.
2) Energy Efficiency is Still a Priority
While government regulations are lessoning, we know that the environment is still important, plus, there is the added benefit of cost-savings - so, energy efficiency is a priority. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency debuted the Energy Star Verified HVAC Installation Program. You can now buy environmentally friendly equipment and choose an HVAC professional to install it who takes steps to be even more energy efficient.
3) The Internet of Things
This isn't our first mention of the Internet of Things. It will effect all aspects of construction. Smart thermostats and commercial HVAC system hubs will be must-haves to regulate utility usage and make smart decisions.
What trends do you expect to arise in the year ahead?
