A worker is dead and another is seriously injured after falling 50 feet from a snow gutter.

John Wood, Senior Vice President of Mortenson Construction, announced that the accident happened ay 7:45am on August 26.  Two workers were working on the north side of U.S. Bank Stadium when they fell down the snow removal drain.

"This is a very tragic day," Wood said.

The two workers were immediately trasported to a nearby hospital.  One later died.  Mortenson is conducting an investigation, and looking into whether the men were using proper safety equipment such as hard hats and harnesses.
