In the United States, about 150 workers are killed every day on the job. In North Dakota, the deadliest state, 56 workers die each day at work.
In 2013, 4,585 US workers were killed in on the job accidents and 50,000 died of occupational diseases. On top of that, 3.8 million work related injuries were reported. It is estimated that 7.6 million to 11.4 million is the actual number of work-related injuries due to a epidemic of unreported injuries.
North Dakota has been deemed the deadliest state to work in for the third year in a row.
"The state's job fatality rate of 14.9 per 100,000 was more than four times the national average," the report stated.
