House Being Investigated Following Three Fires | F.E. Moran Fire Protection

The Sacramento Fire Department is investigating what caused three separate fires in a home.  The third resulted in the death of two children.

The fire swept through the two-story home quickly and killed an 11 year old and 6 year old.  The fire began in the living room and quickly spread.

This was at least the third fire that firefighters responded to in the home.  "Sacramento fire crews have responded to this address on two prior occasions for fires, June 23, 2013 and September 11, 2012, and in all of the three cases candles were a common theme," said Chris Harvey, Fire Department spokesperson.  However, that does not neccessarily mean that candles were the cause of the fire.  Harvey said the investigation is focusing on electrical equipment and burning candles.

"Due to the high heat of the fire and the intensity with which it burned and the evidence we were left to investigate, we were unable to tell which of those we would be able to rule out," Harvey said.
