Dan Yungerman, Director of Service and Residential Plumbing, had the opportunity to represent F.E. Moran at the PHCC (Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors) Legislative Conference in Washington DC.
Yungerman was in Washington DC to lobby for key issues in the plumbing industry.
The group met with Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth's top legislative staff to discuss key topics in the plumbing industry. Yungerman also sat with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi.
The group discussed Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA), Workforce Development, and the PROSPER Act. They also talked about the Department of Labors' Apprenticeship Task Force.
The conference took place May 22-23, and more than 100 contractors attended to provide a unified voice. PHCC National President Laurie Crigler said, "Politics is not a spectator sport and your involvement is key to successful advocacy at all the levels - local, state, and national. None of this works without you."
The topics that the PHCC were passionate about were:
- Tax reform victory for contractors
- Apprenticeship task force
- Water infrastructure finance and innovation act (WIFIA)
- Workforce development
- PROSPER ACT
Yungerman had this to say about his experience:
I'm very proud to have had the opportunity to represent F.E. Moran on the Capitol and to lobby for our industries' future.
