Guam -- On Thursday night, 60% of the power to large residential and construction areas in Guam blacked out during peak use. The reason? Four large generators have gone down due to mechanical failure.
The power rationing has been happening since Tuesday when the generators went down. Residential and commercial districts in Dededo, Tamuning and Tumon were in the areas that required power rationing.
Guam's power peaks between 6pm and 9pm at 255 MW. On Tuesday, they lost 60% of their power supply to the lost generators.
By this Saturday morning, the island's power situation is expected to improve. Of the four generators lost, two will be back online.
