200+ Firefighters Trained in 6 Months on Fire Sprinklers Through our Education Program

F.E. Moran Fire Protection National in the Champaign and Marion offices have been developing training for municipal fire departments in the Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri regions.  Recently, they completed a training session for the Cape Girardeau, MO and Paducah, KY  Fire Departments.

“The fire department training focuses on “refresher” and “familiarization” on the different types of fire sprinkler systems, parts and components of fire sprinkler systems and how they operate. These fire companies may encounter systems throughout their area on a daily basis and need to know how they work. Most of the time, these men and women are only given about a three hour module on fire sprinklers that is also combined with alarms and suppression systems during their state certification courses. Quite a bit of information is lost or not touched on.”  stated Justin James. Justin works out of the Marion office and administers this training to the fire departments.

In addition to the fire department refresher training, John Bridgman and Craig Arbuckle utilize the F.E. Moran Fire Protection's Riser Testing Center in Champaign. This was developed to provide a “hands-on” learning experience for fire dept. staff on fire sprinkler system operations.

Another teaching tool that is used is live fire scenarios.  This is done by utilizing a fire sprinkler trailer that shows fire crews how different types of sprinklers work. Side-by-side burns are set up to showcase how fire sprinklers function in an actual fire situation and also compares a sprinkler protected room to a non-protected room.

F.E. Moran Fire Protection National's goal is to refresh and familiarize municipal fire agencies with fire sprinkler systems.

Battalion Chief of the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, Mike Ramsey said, "Your classes were very informative, concise, and relevant to our needs.  I appreciate you focusing your presentation on what we need to know in relation to sprinkler systems.  You also did a great job of tying the knowledge presented to our operations and making it understandable for our employees."

F.E. Moran Fire Protection National has been actively training fire departments for the past six months, and have trained approximately 250+ firefighters on fire sprinkler systems.  It has been an enormous success.

The Moran Group believes in educating customers, potential customers, and the community alike on fire protection, HVAC, and plumbing.  Before all else, we believe that it is important to be knowledgeable on these subjects, and we are happy to be your teacher.

A special thank you to John Bridgman, Craig Arbuckle and Justin James for their constant work in training and development for the community on fire sprinklers.

Below you'll find a letter of thanks from the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.
