Apartment Fire Displaces 23

An apartment fire that started today at 5am left 23 people homeless.

When fire crews arrived, fire was visible on the first floor of the three story, six unit building.  Fire crews searched the property and the neighboring property while others fought the fire.  Firefighters were able to contain the fire to not only one building, but one apartment.

Heavy smoke damage and water from the hoses damaged the other apartments and 14 adults and 9 children were displaced.  The American Red Cross is assisting.

One person was evaluated for smoke inhalation.  No one else was injured.
