JANESVILLE - Fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages early Saturday at a south-side manufacturing plant, according to the Janesville Fire Department.
Employees at Humane Manufacturing, 1350 Venture Drive, reported the fire at 4:45 a.m. It started in a press and spread to nearby materials. The employees were evacuated and nobody was injured.
The building's sprinkler system was activated and kept the fire under control until firefighters arrived.
The estimated damage was to products in the building. Damage to the press and other machinery was not estimated Saturday.
Hendricks Commercial Properties, Beloit, owns the property.
