SALEM – A three-alarm fire ripped through a strip mall in Salem, destroying three businesses and damaging two others late Monday night.

The roof collapsed during the blaze making fighting it especially difficult for firefighters.

The strip mall is located near the intersection of Lancaster and D Street. Pedro Escobar's family owns the meat shop in the mall.

“We've been here for the last 9 years almost. Business was going good and now we're devastated by seeing this scene,” he said.

Investigators have not yet been able to determine what caused the huge fire. So far, conditions have been too unstable to safely enter the burned building.
