Chicago, IL -- The groundbreaking for the Vista Tower, Chicago's third tallest building, took place on Wednesday with Mayor Rahm Emanuel as host.
The groundbreaking took place at North Columbus and East Wacker. At the groundbreaking, Emanuel said, "The largest real estate investment by a Chinese firm in the United States of America is going to be right here in the city of Chicago."
The Vista Tower will cost $1 billion and be 95 stories with residences and a five-star hotel.
The project is by award winning architect and Chicago native, Jeanne Gang. "That's going to also bring a lot of vibrancy to this area and our city can support that," said Gang.
