Sixteen people, including three children, were temporarily displaced by an apartment fire early Christmas Eve morning.
The fire was in a five-floor apartment building the 1800 block of West 79th Street in the Gresham neighborhood.
They waited in a warming bus while firefighters worked.
The first 911 call came in just before 2:55 a.m. and the fire was extinguished about a half hour later, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
No one was injured.
Chicago police said the fire was in a unit occupied by one or two people who won't be able to return anytime soon but that the rest of the building appeared habitable.
