Fire officialshave announced that three children were killed and six adults were injured when a fire broke out in a duplex in Minneapoils. The children died at the scene and the adults were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Assistant Fire Chief Cherie Penn said firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire on the second and third floors of the duplex as they searched for victimes and survivors. Firefighters rescued and provided medical care for several people at the scene. Fifteen people lived in the duplex.
The blaze was extinguished in 2.5 hours. No cause of the fire has been reported. No report of fire protection in the home has been reported.
