A four year old died in a Bensenville, IL house fire.
Firefighters were called to the home at 2pm. There was smoke on two sides of the house when firefighters arrived. Family members told firefighters a child was trapped in the house, but the flames were so bad, firefighters couldn't get into the building at first.
When firefighters were finally able to get into the house, they found the child, but he was already dead.
David Traiforos of the Bensenville Fire Department said, "Firefighters made a frantic effort to search for the baby. By the time they found the child, the child was deceased."
Another family member was injured and taken to Alexian Brothers Hospital.
The fire is under investigation.
