Yonkers, NY -- A 12 year old boy has been charged with starting a 3-alarm fire that displaced 35 people.

The blaze started at 10:15pm on Saturday in an apartment.  Police spent Sunday morning questioning the boy.  After the interrogation, he was charged with arson.

Constantine, a neighbor in the building next door, said that the boy's father kept screaming, "My son did it!  My son did it!"

The fire travelled from one apartment building, to the one next door.  One building was completely gutted.

Constantine said, "I ran down to the second floor, just started banging on all the doors on my way up."  He then grabbed his children (a 2 year old and 3 year old) and wife and left the building.  All of their possessions were destroyed.

Constanine went on to say, "Have to rebuild.  Happy to be alive and happy that no one got hurt."

Thirty-five people and fourteen families were displaced in the fire.  No fire protection has been reported at this time.
