Westland, MI -- Residents of a senior living center in Michigan were evacuated after a fire broke out in one of the apartments on Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 2am and several fire crews were called to the scene. It was extinguished by 4:30am.
The senior living complex had to evacuate 20 units and 50-60 seniors were evacuated and relocated to other areas of the complex. Fire crews had to break through some windows to rescue residents. Some needed to be evacuated with stretchers due to mobility issues.
