Rolling Meadows, IL -- One person was killed when a fire broke out at an Illinois Northwest suburb apartment complex that did not have fire sprinklers.
An extra alarm fire broke out at a 3-story apartment building at 8pm on Wednesday. Over 20 fire departments responded to the fire.
One person jumped from a balcony and was pronounced dead at the hospital. All other residents were safe and uninjured. However, 50 people have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
