Man Killed, Woman Injured in Antioch House Fire

residential fire protectionAntioch, IL -- One man was killed and a woman was injured in an Antioch fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 10:19am  over the weekend.  Six of the seven people in the building escaped the fire before firefighters arrived.  Unfortunately, 76 year old Lowell Siminson was found in an upstairs bedroom and pronounced dead on his way to the hospital.

Patricia Simonson, 74, was taken to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center with serious injuries related to smoke inhalation.  The couple's daughter, three grandchildren, and Patricia's disabled sister were all treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Investigators believe that the fire started in an upstairs bedroom.
