Two Killed in South Dakota House Fire

residential fire sprinklersBrandon, SD -- Two people were killed in a house fire last night:  1 civilian and 1 firefighter.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 10:30pm on Sunday.  Fire could be seen coming from the garage.

Firefighters were informed that there may be a person inside, so they went into rescue mode.  Unfortunately, the homeowner, David Smith, 37, was killed.  There is word that another person was in the home at the time.

At 11pm, one of the firefighters was reported missing.  At 1:30am, he was found dead in the basement.

The fire is under investigation, but does not appear to be suspicious.  There was no report of the status of the other person in the home.
