Pennsylvania -- A four-alarm fire on Thursday destroyed the "Gateway to Squirrel Hill" made up by a large commercial building.
The fire produced black smoke that could be seen for miles. Fire crews arrived around 5pm. When fire crews found the fire, it was well-seeded on the second floor of the building.
There was no one injured. The building had been vacant for six months and all utilities were shut off, making this fire suspicious in nature.
By 9:30pm, firefighers were still on the scene. They continued to pour water onto the ruins of the building. A brick facade fell onto the sidewalk. A contractor will be demolishing what is left of the building.
City arson investigators are working to determine what sparked the fire.
