Redding, CA -- A fire ignited in a detergent tank on Sunday around 5pm.
A fire alarm activated and a sprinkler turned on above the tank. It kept the fire at bay until firefighters could arrive. Redding's Engine No. 6, which is located across the street, saw light smoke and heard the alarm and quickly came to the rescue.
By 5:30pm the fire was completely out.
The fire was caused by a tank malfunction.
The fire was confined to the tank, and total damage estimates are pending.
