sprinkler activation reportStamford -- A fire suppression sprinkler saved an office building when a fire broke out this week.

The fire broke out after the office had closed for the day.  Firefighters learned of the fire when an automatic fire alarm alerted them to the fire sprinkler activation.

The fire started in a records room.  Firefighters discovered damage from fire, smoke, and water in the room.  They also found that one sprinkler head activated, controlling the fire.

No one was injured.  Five engines, one truck, and one rescue arrived at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
