Woman Charged with Arson, Murder for Fire that Killed Two Firefighters

Kansas City, MO -- Two weeks after two firefighters were killed fighting a fire, a woman is being charged with arson and murder.

Thu Hong Nguygen, 43, is being charged with one count of arson in the first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder for the death of the two firefighters who died fighting the fire she intentionally set.

For the past two weeks, investigators have been trying to figure out the cause of the fire.  They interviewed witnesses, tenants, and victims to determine the cause.  They found that the fire started in a storage room at LN Salon and Spa, owned by Nguygen.  Nguygen's story did not correlate with evidence.  It was also found that she committed arson on  July 25, 2013 at Nails USA and January 6, 2015 at an apartment.  Both fires resulted in her getting insurance money.
